Bridgeport
HISTORY
The 40mw #5 furnace’s first tap of the Tennessee Alloys Company in Bridgeport was in April 14, 1977. Originally designed for 50% ferrosilicon the market conditions changed in 1988 with the transition to mainly 75% production. Globe Specialty Metals purchased Core Metals Group on April 1, 2010 of which Tennessee Alloys Company is a major part.


PLANT FACILITIES
- One 40mw submerged arc Demag design soderberg furnace
- One American Air Filter positive pressure baghouse with associated equipment
- One silica fume handling and storage system
- Two crushing and sizing systems
LOCATION
Tennessee Alloys Company is located in the Northeast corner of Jackson County in Bridgeport, Alabama within eye sight of the Tennessee River.
