Main objectives: Ferroglobe has developed an energy saving and efficiency project consisting of improving the insulation of the furnace, more specifically replacing the refractory to achieve an improvement in electricity consumption by the electrodes that melt the material. Thanks to the project, 95.84 toe per year will be saved.

High Efficiency Air Compressor

Ferroglobe

Main objectives: Ferroglobe has developed an energy saving and efficiency, consisting of the replacement of three piston compressors with the latest technology air compressor equipment, which is much more energy efficient. The collaboration of the best equipment manufacturers in the sector has been required, which will provide us with great energy and environmental savings in the process. Thanks to the project, 16.84 toe per year will be saved.

Automation of Refining Furnace Loading

Ferroglobe

Main objectives: Project to automate the charging of refining furnace thanks to the enlargement of the raw material hopper, charging tube and reduction of the hood lifting time. Thanks to the project, better regularity has been achieved in the loading of the furnace and the loading time, during which the motors of the auxiliary systems of the furnace are consuming electrical energy, has been minimised.
