Emalahleni

HISTORY

This plant was firstly operated in 1926 with the production of Calcium Carbide, commissioning later various Ferrosilicon furnaces. In 2008, Silicon Smelters (now part of FerroAtlántica) purchased the assets of eMalahleni. In 2009, the Silica Fume plant was added.

One plant for densifying Microsilica
Two electrodes paste plants
Special crushing facilities are available for each metallurgical product

LOCATION

The eMalahleni plant is situated in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa, in the city of eMalahleni/Witbank, 150 km east from Johannesburg.
